Michael Ambjørn PropTech

Michael Ambjørn is Managing Director at Proptech and will act as moderator at this event.

When not moderating strategic gatherings like the Greater Copenhagen Green Deal Conference, Michael Ambjørn runs Proptech Denmark. A non-profit association gathering and nurturing a community of proptech minded industry players. Operating at the intersection of established real estate and the tech-driven innovators shaping the next generation of business models, products, and services - with an especially keen eye on sustainability. Because 40% of CO2 is from the built environment. 

Michael also serves on a range of advisory boards, including the new Women in Tech Program from Tech Nordic Advocates and the Expert Advisory Group for Science, Innovation & Tech at the Institute of Directors in London, where he is also a Fellow.

Dr Bernd Biervert
European Commission, Directorate-General for Research & Innovation

Dr Bernd Biervert is Head of Ecological and Social Transitions Unit in DG Research & Innovation. He is responsible for, among other tasks: co-ordination of the Research & Innovation contribution to the European Green Deal (including the ‘Fitfor55’ package); lead and coordination of the Research & Innovation contribution to the New European Bauhaus; co-ordination of H2020 and Horizon Europe Cluster 5 and 6; Transition analysis; Dissemination and Exploitation of research results.

Mr Biervert has previously served as Deputy Head of Cabinet in the Cabinet of Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič - Energy Union, and in the Cabinet of Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič - Interinstitutional Relations and Human Resources, but also as Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Ján Figeľ and Maroš Šefčovič - Education, Youth, Culture and Citizenship, and various other European Commission Services.

He has a legal educational background (University of Freiburg/Germany, Institute for European Law, Senior Assistant, University of Freiburg/Germany, Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law, Junior Assistant) and is a qualified Judge.

Maria Emilie Danø Hoffmann Ørsted

Maria is leading Ørsted’s Venture & Open Innovation department, which focuses on sourcing and developing innovation concepts and opportunities via external ecosystems, e.g. the start-up environment and academia. Previously, Maria led Ørsted’s commercial innovation department. Before that, she worked at BCG and as a researcher in fundamental physics.

Håkan Rosqvist sustainable business hub malmö

Håkan Rosqvist has been CEO of Sustainable Business Hub since 2018. He holds a PhD in groundwater management and has many years of experience in applied R&D and innovation in the triple helix area. Besides his competence in the environmental area, he has an extensive experience of initiating and running national and international research and innovation projects.

Øystein Leonardsen CITY OF COPENHAGEN

Øystein Leonardsen has more than 30 years of experience in the green transition in urban and traffic planning, business development and user engagement. Since 2008, Leonardsen has been involved in three integrated urban renewal projects around Copenhagen, and has a.o. conducted a business potential analyses of South Harbour, launched an ambitious strategy to promote urban life and commerce locally and a local circular economy living lab with Aalborg University Copenhagen. Since 2019 he has functioned as Program Director for the Integrated Urban Renewal Green Transition, and is engeaged in a string of projects, where of many are funded by the European Union. He holds a MSc. in Environmental and Technological Planning and a Diploma in Leadership. He is as well external lecturer at Roskilde University.

At this conference he will speak about Circular Economy.

Rasmus Mørk Greater Copenhagen EU Office

Rasmus Mørk helps companies in Eastern Denmark apply for EU funding via a free service called CopenVirk. Rasmus has worked with EU funding for companies for 15 years, and since 2017 he has been involved in more than a 100 successful applications leading to more than 400 M DKK in EU funding. Rasmus has a master in political science and an MBA.

Juliet Leonette is an architect, city planner and sustainability strategist working for the Environmental Department in Malmö. For the past years she has led a few of the Departments larger innovation projects within the fields of blue/green infrastructure and the sharing economy, pushing boundaries and investigating means and methods for sustainable urban planning. The scope of the projects has incorporated topics such as biodiversity, resilience and enabling the citizens of Malmö to live a good, healthy and affordable life, within planetary boundaries. She is also the coordinator for the City of Malmö’s environmental goal nr 6: The range of and the access to green and blue environments has increased in Malmö.

At this conference she will be speaking about innovation opportunities within climate adaptation.

Jesper Blaabjerg Holm helps the forty-six municipalities and two regions in Eastern Denmark secure EU funding for their circular economy and climate adaptation projects. Jesper has worked with EU funding for 5 years and has supported multiple successful applications for EU’s funding programs. Jesper has a master in European Studies.

At this conference he will speak about green EU funding for municipalities, regions, and utility companies.

BLOXHUB is one of the globally leading hubs for sustainable urbanisation. Placed in Copenhagen, Denmark, BLOXHUB develops innovation and partnerships that lead to more sustainable and liveable cities worldwide.

As Head of Global Networks, Jakob is responsible for creating collaboration between international organisations and the urbanisation ecosystem around BLOXHUB.

Jakob has a background in international climate collaboration from the City of Copenhagen, and with Copenhagen Capacity, where he developed a regional structure for receiving professional delegation visits from abroad. His international work also includes positions with the European Commission, among others.

Sascha Glasl Space&Matter

Sascha studied architecture at RWTH Aachen, graduated cum laude in 2007 and co-founded Space&Matter in Amsterdam in 2009 at the height of the economic crisis, creating projects when opportunities were scarce.

Equally passionate about strategic design, innovative concepts and democratic development processes, Sascha focuses on implementing the principles of the Doughnut economy in the built environment.

He initiated De Ceuvel and SWEETS Hotel, and played a leading role in shaping the plan for Schoonschip.

He is currently exploring how Community Land Trusts in particular can accelerate this transition and focused on creating a comprehensive ecosystem that can increase the scale and impact of these past projects and achieve circular area development.

Anne dorthe fethers CLEAN

Anne Dorthe Fethers has a background in political science working for among others for the Danish Ministry for Business and Economic Affairs, FOR A and the Danish Design Centre.

In 2016 she joined CLEAN where she has led grand innovative tenders for waste management in building and plastic waste.

She has a great experience with innovation projects and an extensive network within the waste sector in Denmark and abroad.
